Instructions to make Milk tart:
- For crust: In a bowl mix together melted butter, egg and water. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix together to make soft dough.
- Press in tart tin about 0.5cm thick. Bake in 180°C preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- For filling: Bring milk and sugar to a boil in a pot.
- Whisk melted butter, flour, egg yolk, salt and custard powder to make flour paste
- Add 1/3 of hot milk to flour paste and whisk to avoid lumps.
- Return to heat and whisk continuously till it thickens. Remove from heat when it is thick.
- In a separate bowl whisk egg whites to soft peak. Fold egg whites into custard.
- Pour custard into tart shell and bake for 20-30 minutes until set in preheated 180°C oven
- Let cool completely and dust with ground cinnamon. Enjoy with tea
